Tips for Calibrating Your Roasting Profile

I’ve been experimenting with different roasting profiles for my new Diedrich IR-12 and noticed some unique flavor notes arising from slight adjustments. For anyone struggling to get consistency, have you tried changing the first crack temperature to see how it affects the final profile? I’m curious about what settings have worked best for others.

I noticed adjusting the airflow during the initial roast phases can really enhance the flavor complexity, especially with the Diedrich IR-12. I’ve found that a slight increase right before first crack helps to highlight those unique notes you’re talking about. What’s been your experience with airflow adjustments so far?
