Low-pressure shots? Check the inlet first

Before you chase the pump or OPV, look at what’s feeding it. I’ve had three service calls this week where a clogged $3 inlet screen or a kinked braided line was starving a rotary — swap the screen, unkink the line, and brew pressure snaps back to about 9 bar; if you’re seeing 4–6 bar under flow, what’s your first check before condemning the pump?

I crack the line at the pump inlet and run the feed into a pitcher — if you’re seeing “4–6 bar under flow,” you should still get a strong, continuous stream (garden hose, not a sad spray); if it dribbles, the issue’s upstream, often an inline softener/carbon block right after the shutoff. Plumbed-in or tanked?
